On Monday, New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo announced an emergency health order demanding that all out-of-state travelers from Florida and 18 other states labeled “high-COVID” states must provide contact information upon arrival or receive a summons and a $2,000 fine.
NY is issuing an emergency health order:
Out-of-state travelers from designated high-COVID states must provide their contact information upon arrival.
If you fail to provide it, you will receive a summons with a $2K fine.
We’re serious about enforcing quarantine.

“You must give officials at the airport your form as to where you came from and where you’re going before you leave the airport,” Cuomo said at a press conference. “It will be enforced at every airport in the state of New York.”
“We can’t be in a situation where we have people from other states bringing the virus again,” he added. “It’s that simple.”
Last month, the NY governor issued an order that required every traveler from hot-spot states to quarantine for two weeks upon entering the state. But there has been nothing to stop tens of thousands of people from bypassing health officials and refusing to sign forms, according to WESH. Now there will be both a summons and a $2,000 fine for not complying.
New York’s stance on Florida travel follows Florida maintaining its stance on travel from New York as well as New Jersey and Connecticut which state that any travelers coming from those three states much quarantine for 14 days upon entering the Sunshine State.
But New York is not the only state that placed advisories and restrictions on travel to and from Florida. 16 states in total have some sort of advisory enacted.
