As the Cast Member preview sheds more light on the changes happening at the theme parks, Walt Disney World will be instituting virtual waitlists to keep Guests at a limited capacity inside the in-park gift shops.

Twitter user @ScottGustin shared the news on Twitter this morning:

The sign on the right reads “Please provide us with your U.S. 10-digit mobile number to receive text message alerts when it is your time to return. You will receive two (2) text messages from us.”

This virtual waitlist helps control the number of Guests that enter the stores at a time and allows Guests to walk around the area rather than forming a line that could violate social distancing procedures.

This is the same policy that was implemented at Walt Disney World’s shopping and dining district, Disney Springs, when it reopened its stores at the end of May, and it is suggested to be implemented at Disneyland’s Downtown Disney District when it reopens on July 9.

Disney World’s Cast Member Preview has also shed some light into how Guests will experience attractions. Inside the Magic recently shared footage from social media that shows barriers were put in place in the queues for several of the attractions such as Flight of Passage at Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train at the Magic Kingdom. Kilimanjaro Safaris allows for masks to be removed while on the ride as well.
