With Disneyland Resort still temporarily closed due to the global pandemic, they are pushing back the date of when guests can begin making reservations. Though, we recently reported that Disneyland Resort could begin to reopen as Orange County Moves to stage three Governor Gavin Newsom’s reopening plan, it looks as though Disneyland Resort may not reopen until mid-July.
Disneyland Resort Reservation
Disneyland Resort announced on their website that guests will be able to book beginning on July 15, however, when we tried to book a resort we found that there was no availability on July 15 — Only for July 16 and later.
We tried to make a reservation for July 15 – July 17, but there was no availability which you can see in the screenshot below.
But when we tried to make a reservation for July 16 – July 18, we were able to find availability for all of the resorts on Disneyland property.
Disneyland Dining Reservation
Please keep in mind that there is still no availability for dining reservations at Disneyland Resort. We attempted to make a dining reservation for July 16 and you can see in the screenshot below there is no availability for any restaurants.
Disneyland Park Hours
And we also went ahead and checked the park hours for Disneyland and you can see there are still no hours listed through July 11, 2020.
More Information Regarding Disney Parks Reopening
We recently reported that Disneyland Resort has begun surveying guests about the reopening of the Southern California theme parks, which you can read more about here.
With the health and safety measures being put in place at Shanghai Disneyland, which reopened its gates to guests on May 11, as well as the protocols at Disney Springs in Walt Disney World, which reopened on May 20, we could have an idea of how Disneyland Resort will proceed with the safety measures as well.
Shanghai Disneyland also implemented a new reservation system, which could be a sneak peek of how Disneyland Resort will handle reservations as well once they reopen to the public. Read more about the new reservation system here.
Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida announced a phased reopening for their theme parks — Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Animal Kingdom to reopen on July 11 while EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios to reopen on July 15. Along with the phased reopening, Disney World will be eliminating character meet and greets, character dining, parades, fireworks, and other select entertainment. Please note at this time, Disneyland Resort has not yet announced a reopening date for Disneyland park, Disney California Adventure park, Downtown Disney, or any of the three on-site hotels. Inside the Magic will continue to update our readers as we get more information.
