The Disney Parks Artist Studio is back today with a drawing that’s super relevant for Star Wars Day! Today the focus is the lovable droid from the most recent Star Wars trilogy, BB-8.
You can follow the video instructions by simply going into the My Disney Experience app or the Disneyland app and following the prompt that says Disney Parks Artist Studio. If you’d like to take your time with the drawing we’ve made it easy for you by including the five-step process below:
Starting things off relatively simply with you just having to draw a circle and the top of BB-8’s head with a half circle.
In step two you can already see the famous droid start to come together. The little detail in adding the lines between the circle and semi-circle results in him becoming instantly recognizable.
By starting to add your circles to the sphere you are giving further life to BB-8. Don’t be afraid to experiment with the colors you have available — he doesn’t have to look like an exact film replica!
It’s time for adding in the final details of your droid. That final dash of color and line detail makes all the difference so take your time!
Step five – complete!
If you’ve followed the process then your final drawing should look something like this:
It’s amazing to see Disney continue to share these insights in how to draw some of the most beloved characters in the world and what a perfect way to celebrate Star Wars. On top of drawing characters, we’ve also been celebrating here at ITM by sharing lots of Star Wars content for you to enjoy. Here are a few of our highlights:
