With Onward recently arriving on Disney+, many fans were asking when the The Simpsons short would be arriving onto the streaming service, after all, it debuted alongside the film in cinemas!

Well, good news Simpsons fans, “Playdate with Destiny” will be arriving on Disney+ tomorrow! The creator of The Simpsons, Matt Groening, shared a special handwritten note to fans on social media to reveal the news.

The good news for fans outside of the US is that the short will be making its debut worldwide on Disney+. That means no waiting weeks before it arrives in Europe or in other markets.

For those who didn’t get a chance to see the Simpsons short along with Onward in its original cinema run, the short film begins with just another day in the park for Maggie Simpson. However, when Maggie faces some peril in the playground she meets a heroic young baby who whisks her away from danger and steals her heart. Wanting to see her hero again things don’t quite go to plan as Homer gets in the way (classic Homer).

The short film follows on from the 2012 Academy Award-nominated film, “The Longest Daycare” which Disney has also announced is coming to Disney+ later in the month. All of this is on top of joining Bart, Homer, Marge, Maggie, and Lisa through 30 seasons of the hit show, alongside The Simpsons Movie.

I for one can’t wait to see the short arrive on Disney+ tomorrow as I didn’t get around to watching Pixar’s Onward in the cinema when it was released. With Disney also fixing the aspect ratio issues that many fans had problems with on The Simpsons, Disney+ is looking like the best place to get your Simpsons fix.

Disney continues adding shorts from across their collection of properties including Pixar (and the famous Pixar Shorts) and Disney Animation shorts like “Olaf’s Frozen Adventure.”
