In this story, one Disney fan shares the magical moment that Disney Cast Members gave her husband, Dave, who is a disabled veteran and a law enforcement officer.
Magic happens at Disney destinations when you least expect it. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion like a birthday or engagement or you’re just having your Best Day Ever. Disney Cast Members go above and beyond to make your trip as magical as possible. For one couple — Michelle and Dave Psyck — their trip was extra pixie dusted when Disney World employees did their absolute best to bring out the biggest Mickey Mouse smile in these two guests.
Inside the Magic reader, Michelle Psyck, sent in a video of her Disney World Cast Member Teresa who made Michelle’s husband’s Disney birthday so special. She even offered to babysit their Mickey plush and balloons so the happy couple could enjoy the rest of their day at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Take a look at the video:

“My husband and I took our older teenagers to Disney world in 2012, and he was a very much “one and done”. (so he thought) Flash forward all these years, and I go to Disney at least 2 times a year sometimes more with grand babies and adult children. My husband is a disabled veteran and in law enforcement so his fishing vacations down south are more to his speed and enjoyment. (so he thought) I was able to surprise him with a birthday trip.
It literally was decided to go in 24 hours, his daughter went shopping and packed luggage for him and hid it in the car trunk. I woke him up at 3am to drive to the airport and off we went, he was very surprised and a bit reserved, I was so nervous. We arrived at the Disney resort with no dining reservations, no fast passes and no itinerary. For a planner like me, this was pretty stressful and the wonderful cast members at check in listened so nicely to my venting, turned to a coworker with my phone and with in fifteen minutes they had secured fast passes and dinner reservations for the next 4 days! Off we went to enjoy one park a day.
I am still not sure where all the magic came from, but every day at each sit down meal there was balloons, a card, or a gift along with a birthday cupcake, it truly was Disney magic at its bests. The video was on his actual birthday, in the morning we dined with Chef Mickey and in the rest of the day we spent at Hollywood studios. The meal at the 50s prime time cafe was by far the most wonderful surprise with the balloons and mickey plush. Our waitress Teresa went above and beyond. I can not express how Disney and the Cast Members brought out the kid in him. He had such a great time, I couldn’t remember him ever smiling so much.
In a few weeks he is taking me to Disney for the 25th anniversary of my 25th. Although I didn’t let him plan the whole trip, he assured me he has a few surprises for me. I’ve enclosed a few photos of Dave getting his “Disney on” I can’t express how full my heart is when he lets his guard down and gets silly.”
It’s clear to us as Disney fans that Dave and Michelle truly had a blast on their last Disney trip. And of course, there’s nothing like true Disney magic from Cast Members, who can warm the heart of anyone no matter your age. You’re never too old or too young to experience a magical Disney moment. We hope Michelle and Dave have a blast on their next trip!
