Yes, the husband and wife songwriting duo Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez are giving Anna and Elsa a brand new duet to sing in Disney’s Broadway version of Frozen.

Called “I Can’t Lose You,” the duet replaces the established reprise of “For the First Time in Forever.” Remember that scene in the ice castle when Anna reunites with Elsa? She pleads with her sister to come back home while Elsa insists on staying in isolation. Yes, Disney is changing that scene in the Broadway show.

The reason behind the change, according to Disney Theatrical, is because they want to deepen the connection between Anna and Elsa. The reprise of “For the First Time in Forever” isn’t much of a true duet. Each sister sings her own individual monologue over each other. The new song, “I Can’t Lose You” will have the sisters singing to each other. What this duet sounds like and how it leads to Elsa hitting Anna with a flash of ice is only known to those fans lucky enough to see the touring production. “I Can’t Lose You” makes its Broadway debut tonight along with Kristoff’s new reprise to his song “What Do I Know About Love?”

But, some of the show’s original songs had to be cut in order to make room for the changes. For example, Anna’s second-act solo, “True Love” was completely cut to keep the momentum going and build up to the conclusion.
