Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland was reservation-only from the opening day on May 31 all through June 23. But starting June 24, guests will no longer require a reservation to visit Batuu. Instead, there are some other protocols you should keep in mind. Disneyland just revealed another “Know Before You Go” guide to planning your visit to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge after June 24. Here are all the details.
Boarding groups for entering the land
From June 24 onward, guests will be able to wait in a virtual queue before entering Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. To join the virtual queue on the day of your Disneyland visit, be sure you have the Disneyland app installed on your phone. You may or may not need to be part of a boarding group to enter the land, depending on the capacity at the time of your visit, so be sure to check the Disneyland app and signage posted near the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge entrance to see if you need to join the virtual queue, which works similarly to a FastPass. If you are part of a boarding group, it will save you a virtual spot in line so you can enjoy other experiences while you wait to be notified of a time to enter.
In order to make sure you have joined a boarding group along with the rest of the guests in your party, simply link the theme park tickets of everyone in your party together on the app to request the same boarding group for your entire party. To see which boarding group is currently being admitted to the land, look on the app or digital signage in the park. As Disney announced, if you enable push notifications from the Disneyland app on your mobile device, you will be notified when it is time to enter the land. If not, continue to check the Disneyland app or digital signage in the park. You have up to two hours to enter the land after your boarding group is called for admission, so there is no rush.
If you aren’t using the Disneyland app, you can obtain your boarding group with your theme park admission ticket at select FastPass locations near Haunted Mansion, Indiana Jones Adventure, Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, or the Matterhorn Bobsleds.
Reservation requirements for Oga’s Cantina and Savi’s Workshop
If experiencing Oga’s Cantina and building a lightsaber inside Savi’s Workshop, remember that you will be required to make a reservation ahead of time due to the limited capacities of these locations. Guests wishing to book a reservation for these experiences may do so on the same day of their visit, beginning at 7 a.m., with a valid credit card. Per Disney’s announcement, reservations for both Oga’s Cantina and Savi’s Workshop will allow access into Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at the time of the reservation, so it will not be necessary to join a boarding group, if applicable, to enter the land to participate in a reserved experience. You can visit Disneyland.com/SavisWorkshop and Disneyland.com/Cantina for important details on reservations.
