Disney vacations provide guests with magic at every turn. With exciting attractions, relaxing amenities and so much more, there is sure to be something for everyone. And if you’re anything like me, your favorite part of the trip will always be the food and maybe some food inspired merchandise.
Some of Disney’s snacks are nothing short of legendary. The Mickey Pretzel, The Mickey Premium Bar and the Dole Whip are just some of Disney’s most famous options. But if you’re only trying the classic snacks when you visit Walt Disney World – or in this case, Disneyland – you are really missing out. Between their theme parks, their resort hotels and their dining and shopping districts, Disney has all kinds of amazing snacks to offer. Let’s take a closer look at one of those lesser-known offerings.
Fantasia Mickey Churro
Before I get into the snack, I want to reiterate something. I know my reviews typically cover Walt Disney World Snacks but for this one, I actually made the trip out to Disneyland! Don’t worry, I didn’t go just for this churro.
Now, let’s get to the good stuff. The Fantasia Mickey Churro is a chocolate churro dusted with red and blue glitter sugar complete with tiny little stars to give it that Fantasia look. It comes complete with a side of red marshmallow creme with a Sorcerer Mickey hat. Mine, however, had Mickey buttons in the marshmallow creme instead of the hat.
As far as the taste of this snack, it’s not something I’m rushing back to try again. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t anything spectacular either. It tasted like what you would imagine a chocolate churro tastes like. The marshmallow makes it sweeter but doesn’t really add any flavor.
That being said, this is one of the prettiest snacks I’ve ever seen. Yeah, I called a churro pretty. This is what I do. The Fantasia look of this snack is amazing. The glitter sugar with the sparkly little stars makes this snack so unique.
Of course, what I’m trying to say is, just like the Peter Pan Float – this is a very “Instagram-able” snack.
At just $6.25, this snack won’t set you back too much. And if you’re going to get churro anyway, this will only cost you an extra $1.50. I’ll let you decide if that is worth the Instagram photo.
The snack is a bit difficult to find, so I’ll narrow it down for you. The Fantasia Mickey churro can be found at the churro cart located near Big Thunder Mountain Railroad in Frontierland. It’s easy to miss, so you’ll have to keep your eyes peeled. Or just check out these photos so you’ll know exactly where to look.
As you can see in the second photo, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is off in the distance, so if you’re searching right around the attraction, you won’t find the cart. Your best bet is to head to The Golden Horseshoe. The cart is almost directly across from there.
I do think the Fantasia Mickey Churro is worth trying. Let’s face it, if you’re in Disneyland, you’re going to have at least one churro. Might as well pay the extra $1.50 to try something new. And it is delicious. Like I said, it’s a churro. You can’t go wrong.
