Michael Myers has terrorized audiences for 48 years, appearing in 12 films since his debut in John Carpenter’s Halloween (1978). While the franchise has explored several timelines and versions of the Boogeyman, the 2018 film, which brought Jamie Lee Curtis back as Laurie Strode and launched a new trilogy that became a major box-office success, is back in the spotlight.

Halloween: The Game, described by developers IllFonic as a “reimagined extended cut” of the 1978 film, allows players to take on the role of one of the “Heroes of Haddonfield” in a 1v4 asymmetrical multiplayer game, or as Michael Myers in a single-player story. Watch the trailer:
Previous Halloween Sequels Revisited
Although the game only launched in September, IllFonic recently confirmed that Halloween: The Game is already scheduled to receive its first DLC on October 27, featuring the Tower Farm location and the Michael Myers “skin” from Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers (1989).
Now, with October 31 days away, the developer has teased more content inspired by the wider franchise.
This time, it’s the legacy sequel Halloween (2018), which brought back Jamie Lee Curtis as Laurie Strode and got two sequels, Halloween Kills (2021) and Halloween Ends (2022). Collectively, the films grossed $498.7 million worldwide on a combined budget of $63 million.
The game’s official X (Twitter) account made the announcement on October 22, writing:
You don’t believe in the Boogeyman? You should.
The legendary look from Halloween (2018) slashes its way into Halloween: The Game on October 27, 2026.

“On October 27, 2026, players can purchase the version of Michael from Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers, and the version of Michael from Halloween 2018, which mask design is being supervised by Academy Award winner Christopher Nelson, who sculpted the mask for the recent and highly successful trilogy of Halloween 2018, Halloween Kills, and Halloween Ends,” the team explains on the official website.
Whether future DLCs will continue to draw upon the sequels remains to be seen, but if these new packs are an indicator — which come just weeks after the game’s release — it’s more than likely.
Recently, fans called for IllFonic to reintroduce Busta Rhymes’ Freddie Harris from the divisive sequel Halloween: Resurrection (2002). The American rapper retweeted the video on X, suggesting he’s more than willing to see his kung-fu-wielding character return to the franchise.

The official description for the game states:
“Boogeyman or Hero: The Boogeyman is out. Team up in a 1v4 asymmetrical horror showdown on everyone’s favorite night of the year. Choose to save the quiet town of Haddonfield from bloodshed as a Hero of Haddonfield or stalk and terrorize the residents as Michael Myers.”
