Update as of 1:30 p.m.
According to theme park insider Scott Gustin on X (Twitter)
Anyone making a valid first “tap” at Magic Kingdom will be fine – this only impacts people who are trying to park hop. Park hopping could resume at any point.

Visitors intending to take advantage of the Park Hopper feature at Magic Kingdom are urged to note that the park has reached its capacity limit. Disney World recommends that guests with Park Hopper privileges explore alternative options such as EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, or Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
However, guests who have already entered the park with Park Hopper access may proceed as planned. Please be informed that Magic Kingdom is currently not accepting new Park Hopper guests. Disney World advises monitoring the Park Hopping status throughout the day via the My Disney Experience app for any updates.

The Park Hopping Option Explained
Walt Disney World Resort’s Park Hopper option allows guests to explore multiple theme parks daily. By adding the Park Hopper option to their ticket, visitors gain access to all four parks within the same day, with the popular choice being to visit two parks during their visit. Guests can hop between parks anytime during operating hours after entering their initial park, although capacity limitations may apply. Complimentary bus transportation between the theme parks starts at 10 a.m. daily, with the monorail providing connectivity between Magic Kingdom and EPCOT. Some attractions may utilize virtual queues to manage wait times.
Distinguishing itself from the Base ticket, which allows entry to only one park per day, the Park Hopper Plus ticket expands the experience by granting access to multiple theme parks daily. It includes several visits to water parks or other sports-related attractions within Walt Disney World.
To add the Park Hopper option to their tickets, guests can inquire at the point of purchase or typically upgrade directly at the park entrances. Alternatively, contacting Disney directly at 407-W-DISNEY (407-934-7639) offers another avenue for ticket upgrades.
