The next James Bond actor has finally been revealed.
Now that the next James Bond film has landed Blade Runner 2049 (2017) and Dune (2021) director Denis Villeneuve, the search for the new 007 actor is officially underway.
Names have been thrown in and out of the arena since Daniel Craig’s vital signs turned an ominous red at the end of his fifth and final outing, No Time to Die (2021). Aaron Taylor-Johnson (28 Years Later), Idris Elba (The Suicide Squad), the list goes on and on.
More recently, Tom Holland (Spider-Man: No Way Home) and Aaron Pierre (Rebel Ridge) have entered the conversation, but nothing has been confirmed or even remotely hinted at in an official capacity.

The Next James Bond Has Already Been Revealed Anyway
Meanwhile, a separate and official James Bond reboot was recently unveiled, and with it, a new 007 and, of course, the actor who plays him.
The upcoming video game “007: First Light”, developed and published by IO Interactive under license from Amazon MGM Studios, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and Eon Productions, dropped its announcement trailer in early June.
While the actor playing Bond in the game hasn’t been officially named, it has been revealed elsewhere that it’s Irish actor Patrick Gibson, known for playing the young Dexter Morgan in the Paramount+ series Dexter: Original Sin (2024).
Watch the trailer below. It’s not that the resemblance between this “mysterious” Bond actor and Gibson is uncanny — it’s obviously him:

Lennie James, who plays Morgan in AMC’s hit zombie apocalypse series The Walking Dead, also appears in the trailer as Bond’s mentor John Greenway.
The game centers on a James Bond origin story similar to Craig’s Casino Royale (2006).
“007: First Light” is scheduled to be released in 2026.
There’s no release date for the new James Bond film.
