In December 2024, Disney announced that the beloved animated series Bluey would be joining Disneyland Resort in California, Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, and Disney Cruise Line voyages originating from Australia and New Zealand in 2025. The announcement promised “special activations” featuring Bluey and her sister Bingo, including meet-and-greets, interactive games, and dance parties.

However, since that initial reveal, Disney has remained silent on further developments, leaving fans eager for more information. With just a few months left in 2025, it seems that Disney has abandoned their initial plans for this expansion.

Will ‘Bluey’ Ever Come to Disney

The lack of updates has led to growing concerns among the fan community. On social media platforms like Reddit, fans have expressed their anxieties about the project’s status. One fan shared:

“I genuinely thought we’d see Bluey and Bingo as part of Cool Kid Summer. Especially after the media freebies used Bluey so much. But the best we seem to have is at “Get Animated!” with the song occasionally being played and that little fan they give out at the art table outside”

Despite the uncertainty, Disney’s initial announcement emphasized the significance of the collaboration. Josh D’Amaro, Chairman of Disney Experiences, stated:

“Bluey has become a household name for families around the world and we are thrilled to bring her story to life in new ways. We can’t wait to watch our youngest guests and their families make memories with Bluey in our parks and on our cruises.”

The partnership with Ludo Studio and BBC Studios was also highlighted, with plans for special activations and a theatrical film scheduled for release in 2027. However, the absence of concrete details regarding the park experiences has left fans questioning the project’s timeline and scope.

Is This the Wrong Time?

The situation is further complicated by the competitive landscape of the theme park industry. With Universal Orlando’s new Epic Universe set to open in May 2025, Disney may be strategically pacing its announcements to avoid overshadowing its own developments. However, this approach has inadvertently contributed to the uncertainty surrounding the Bluey integration.

As the anticipated launch window approaches, fans remain hopeful for updates. The Bluey series has garnered significant acclaim, including being named the most-watched series globally on Disney+ in 2024. With such popularity, the integration of Bluey into Disney’s parks and cruises holds the potential to be a significant draw for families. However, the ongoing silence raises questions about the project’s status and future.

In conclusion, while the initial announcement of Bluey’s arrival at Disney Parks and Cruises generated excitement, the subsequent lack of updates has led to growing concerns among fans. As the anticipated launch date nears, the community eagerly awaits clarity on the project’s status and the experiences that will be offered.
