On Monday night, Walt Disney World Resort inadvertently barred thousands of Magic Kingdom Park guests from accessing fountain drinks in the Central Florida heat. The fountain beverage system broke down as part of a broader outage at the Disney park that shut down most of its rides, sending the theme park into hours of crowded chaos.

At approximately 6:00 p.m. on February 10, the following Magic Kingdom Park attractions suddenly shut down with no reopening timeline:
- The Barnstormer
- Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin
- Country Bear Musical Jamboree
- Dumbo the Flying Elephant
- “it’s a small world”
- Mad Tea Party
- The Magic Carpets of Aladdin
- The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
- Peter Pan’s Flight
- Pirates of the Caribbean
- Prince Charming Regal Carrousel
- Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
- Space Mountain
- Tiana’s Bayou Adventure
- Tomorrowland Speedway
- Under the Sea – Journey of the Little Mermaid
- Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress
- Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room
Only the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover; Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor; Haunted Mansion; Jungle Cruise; Mickey’s PhilharMagic; and TRON Lightcycle / Run were operational. Unsurprisingly, wait times skyrocketed for these remaining attractions.

The outage lasted a few hours, but luckily, most of the rides were operational by the time a ticketed after-hours event began around 10:00 p.m. However, Inside the Magic has recently learned of another system impacted by last night’s chaos at Magic Kingdom Park.
According to Redditor u/Grottenman, fountain drinks were unavailable throughout Magic Kingdom Park during the outage.
“Well, thats a first for me,” the Disney Park guest wrote. “They are saying their system for the fountain drinks is down. It is also not showing up available to order in any of the mobile order locations.”

According to u/SeriousStrokes69, who claimed to be a Walt Disney World Resort cast member, the first Central Florida Disney park’s central pressurized air system broke down:
“The cause was an issue with the central pressurized air system. All of the attractions that were down use that system for braking, lifting, or some other critical function…As of 8:45, issue seems resolved. Attractions are coming back up one by one as they complete their checklists.”

The central pressurized air system also carbonates the fountain drink machines at Quick Service and Table Service dining locations, making them useless during the outage. Bottled beverages remained available for purchase.
As of Tuesday, Magic Kingdom Park is once again serving fountain beverages to guests.
