Starring Mandy Moore, Tangled told the story of Rapunzel, a young girl who grew up on a tower, with only her mother, her faithful chameleon sidekick, and her imagination to keep her company. Rapunzel dreamed of seeing the floating lanterns that were released every year on her birthday, but her mother, Mother Gothel, never let her leave the tower.
When Rapunzel turns 18, she sneaks out of the tower with a thief named Flynn Rider, who says that he will take her to see the floating lanterns. Throughout their adventures, Rapunzel learns that she is stronger than she ever thought.

She also discovers that she is the long-lost princess who was kidnapped by Mother Gothel. Rapunzel’s hair has magical powers, and Mother Gothel has been using Rapunzel’s gift to stay young.
It has been more than a decade since Tangled premiered, but fans love it almost as much now as they did then. Rumors swirled for years that Disney was planning on turning the movie into a live-action film, but Disney did not confirm the movie was in the works until last December.
Not much information was released at the time, but we do know that the movie is set to be directed by Michael Gracey. Gracey is most well-known for directing the Hugh Jackman-led film The Greatest Showman (2017).

Since the announcement, fans have been debating about which starlet would be perfect to play the titular princess, and the top two picks seem to be actress and singer Sabrina Carpenter and Marvel star Florence Pugh.
And one of the biggest questions is — who will Disney pick to play the iconic Mother Gothel?
After the premiere of Marvel’s Agatha All Along on Disney+, fans quickly began begging Disney to give the role to Kathryn Hahn. And in an interview, Hahn seemed really interested in the possible role.

However, now it looks like someone else might be interested in the role.
Jennifer Lopez raised eyebrows and started a major conversation when she reportedly liked a social media post about her possibly taking the role.

The news really split commenters, with some saying J. Lo didn’t have the acting or singing chops and others saying she would be perfect for the role. Several people even said that they would love to see Cher in the role!
Disney has not commented on the casting rumors, so all fans can do is wait and see what happens.
