Will Venom’s Dance Continue in the MCU Spider-Man Universe?
The Sony Spider-Man Universe (SSU) is now poised for a significant resurgence with its flagship moneymaker, the Tom Hardy-starring Venom franchise. Over the past week, Sony Pictures has dropped the final trailer for Tom Hardy’s Venom/Eddie Brock farewell, Venom: The Last Dance, debuting soon in theaters — only now, updates from insiders are indicating that this may not be the actual “last dance” for Hardy’s Eddie Brock.
In the trailer, the Marvel Comics villain Knull, God of the Symbiotes, is being explicitly teased, as frames of the long-haired leader of the alien Symbiote planet and hive-mind have gotten Marvel fans gagging for more.
Now, insider Alex Perez of Cosmic Circus has revealed in an exciting Spider-Man 4 scoop that Marvel and Sony may be teasing the God of the Symbiotes, Knull, as a villain in Venom: The Last Dance because they actually have something MCU-related up their sleeve.

In fact, there may be real plans for the upcoming Spider-Man 4, led by director Destin Daniel Cretton of Shang-Chi (2021) fame, to be about Tom Holland’s Spider-Man/Peter Parker teaming up with Tom Hardy’s Venom/Eddie Brock. Perez shares:
Recently, I heard that the upcoming Spider-Man film might pit Tom Holland’s Spider-Man and Tom Hardy’s Venom together, with Venom: The Last Dance setting up the interaction. By the end of Venom: The Last Dance, we may see Eddie Brock cross over into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with some sources indicating that the recent reshoots in NYC for Venom: The Last Dance has to do with that, but that remains unconfirmed for now.
In fact, Knull is “seeking to enshroud the entire multiverse in his darkness following its discovery.” No Way Home already sets up the Symbiote’s presence in the MCU with the famous post-credit scene showing a fragment of the Symbiote left behind by Eddie Brock as he’s whisked back to his own universe after the conclusion of Doctor Strange/Stephen Strange’s (Benedict Cumberbatch) spell.
It seems like Sony has gotten their way in the (alleged) fight for a more Multiverse-centric story, effectively pushing the “street-level” story where Spidey teams up with the Man of Fear Himself Charlie Cox’s Daredevil/Matt Murdock to fight for vigilantes in New York City against the Kingpin/Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio), now Mayor Fisk of NYC, back to at least the following Spider-Man entry.
