Disneyland Resort just introduced an all-new experience with beloved Marvel Studios characters–but you’ll have to pay to experience it.

Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort each offer exclusive character meet-and-greets for Disney Visa Cardholders. At Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disneyland Park, guests can show their Chase Disney Visa card for a private encounter with Star Wars characters.

EPCOT and Disney California Adventure Park host meet-and-greets with Walt Disney Animation Studios favorites like Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Pluto, and Goofy.

Disney Rewards shared more information on its blog:

“When you swing through Disney California Adventure® Park this summer, you’ll have the chance to encounter some Super Heroes. As a Disney Visa Cardmember, you can now access a private location for this Heroic Encounter. Just present your Disney Visa Card in Hollywood Land, near Stage 17, at Disney California Adventure® Park between 3 and 6 p.m. daily to access this private Heroic Encounter Photo Opportunity.”

Disney Parks fans were excited about the new Marvel character experience.

“I am so excited for this!” Redditor u/Kchf_34 wrote. “My daughter has been trying to meet Spider-Man and hasn’t gotten to yet, aside from a quick high five. Hopefully this will make it easier!”

Still, others said it wasn’t fair for Disneyland Resort to reserve experiences for Disney Visa Cardmembers.

“This feels like something that should be standard for Magic Key holders,” u/Canon_Cowboy said. “…Why should only Disney visa card holders get it?”

“This is so dumb,” u/TokyoTurtle0 agreed.

The “Heroic Encounter” location near Stage 17 is the same as the Disney Visa Cardmember character meet-and-greet previously offered at Disney California Adventure Park. This experience is still offered from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. daily.

As with all other Disney Visa Cardmember meet and greets at Disneyland Resort, complimentary PhotoPass photo downloads are included with the “Heroic Encounter” at Disney California Adventure Park.

There isn’t an additional fee for the Disney Visa Cardmember experiences at Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort–beyond what guests already pay in Cardmember fees and interest. All tiers of credit cards and Disney Visa debit cards are eligible.

Have you taken advantage of the Disney Visa Cardmember experiences at Disneyland Resort or Walt Disney World Resort? In the comments, share your thoughts on the private meet-and-greet locations.
