If you’re a Disney Lorcana card collector, you may have a treasure trove at home.
What is Disney Lorcana?
It’s been just over a year since Disney Lorcana launched. Released as a collaboration between Ravensburger and The Walt Disney Company, the trading card game features characters from various Disney properties.
In the world of Disney Lorcana, Illumineers use magical ink to summon Glimmers—beings resembling Disney characters—within regions known as Inklands. At the heart of this world lies the Great Illuminary, which archives every story in the Halls of Lorcana.
After the Illumineers vanish, players are called to become new Illumineers, using a lorebook and an inkcaster to create Glimmers and continue the legacy of storytelling.
Each deck consists of at least 60 cards, some of which are much rarer than others. The initial set was known as “The First Chapter,” featuring classic characters such as Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Cinderella, Goofy, and Stitch. Subsequent expansions have included “Rise of the Floodborn,” “Ursula’s Return,” and the as-yet-unnamed set coming in November 2024.
As per Ravensburger, the game has been so successful that it’s “grown the size of the [trading card game] pie.” In the words of Ravensburger CEO Stephane Madi, “It’s hard to count the number of players who have told us that Disney Lorcana TCG has given them a chance to share their love of the hobby with their families or how it’s brought a number of new faces to organized play events.”
The game’s popularity has sent the value of some of its rarer cards soaring, with some people forking out hundreds – if not thousands – to fill in the gaps in their collections. Back before Lorcana cards hit stores, the initial set available D23 2022 Expo would sell for thousands of dollars.
Things may have calmed down since, but – much like other TCG games, such as Magic: The Gathering, Pokemon, and Yu-Gi-Oh – several cards are still worth a significant amount of money.
Mickey Mouse, Brave Little Tailor
Auction house Goldin reported that a gold foil version of these Mickey Mouse cards fetched over $15,000 in a sale on July 21, 2024. Only 500 editions of this card were ever released, awarded to the top players at some Lorcana tournaments.

As per War Gamer, there was a point when the regular version of the card went for a pretty penny, too, but its valuation has steadied out in recent months.
Elsa Snow Queen (D23 Expo edition)
A version of the Elsa Snow Queen card distributed at D23 goes for big bucks on eBay (if they’re in good condition, that is).
Can you believe this Disney Lorcana card is a 1st Edition PSA 10? Who would love to add it to their collection?

One sold on August 10 for $3,827.00, while another went in June for a whopping $6,200.
Cinderella, Stouthearted
This card was distributed to the top players at the 2024 Disney Lorcana Challenge Tournament, which means it isn’t exactly to come across.

It’s since sold for $3,100 on eBay in July, while another sold for $2,974 in June.
Elsa, Spirit of Winter, Enchanted
The Snow Queen is in consistently high demand. In November 2023, this card sold on eBay for $45,000. According to TCG Player, its market price is now more like $824.78, so just a tad lower.

However, you can still find multiple recently sold cards on eBay for upwards of $1,500.
Maleficent, Monstrous Dragon (D23 edition)
The villainous dragon form of Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty (1959) was sold on eBay on November 17, 2023, for $3,400. While regular versions of the card can go for $30 to $40, the D23 edition holds much more value.

Again, a bit like Elsa, this value has dipped more in recent months, but you can still find multiple cards that have sold for over $2,000 on the auction site.
Robin Hood (D23 Expo edition)
Everyone’s favorite thief (sorry, Flynn Rider) has raked in impressive amounts of money – at least, its OG D23 edition has.
