We have some good news for Country Bear Jamboree purists.
First opened at Walt Disney World in 1971, the Country Bear Jamboree is a beloved Disney attraction that features a delightfully wacky cast of Audio-Animatronic bears performing a variety of western and country music.

However, the show has seen several changes over the years, and several versions have long since closed. Disneyland Resort’s version, first opened in 1972, shuttered for good in 2001. Meanwhile, the OG iteration at Magic Kingdom Park permanently closed in January 2024 to make way for the current show, Country Bear Musical Jamboree.
Another version of the show, the Country Bear Christmas Special, has been absent from the Magic Kingdom since 2005. This was the first time a Disney theme park attraction ever received a seasonal overlay, and it soon made its way across the globe to Tokyo Disneyland’s Westernland. Sadly, the show only lasted there until 2019, seemingly being axed for good with the onset of COVID-19.

At least, that’s what we thought.
Today, Tokyo Disney Resort announced its festive lineup for 2024, which will feature the Country Bear Theater Jingle Bell Jamboree for the first time in five years.
The festive overlay will run from November 8, 2024, to January 13, 2025. This follows the surprise return of Vacation Jamboree—which had also been absent from Tokyo Disneyland since 2019—in May.
We’ll have to wait and see if any tweaks have been made to the Christmas show.
If it does follow in the footsteps of its original iteration, it’ll include the likes of Trixie, Teddi Barra, Liver Lips McGrowl (who retains his name in Tokyo, unlike Florida, where he’s been renamed Romeo McGrowl), and The Sun Bonnet Trio singing classic Christmas tracks such as “Santa Claus is Coming to Town,” “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” and “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.”

Other highlights of this Christmas season include Haunted Mansion Holiday Nightmare, Starbright Christmas, and Dazzling Christmas in New York, the latter of which is performed next door at Tokyo DisneySea.

Tokyo Disneyland will also welcome the festive version of Tokyo Disneyland Electrical Parade Dreamlights, plus the return of its classic Christmas daytime parade, Disney Christmas Stories. The resort has announced that this will be the final Christmas season for the latter.
