Universal Halloween Horror Nights 33 Bigger and Better Than Ever Before

Halloween Horror Nights 33 at Universal Orlando Resort is set to be the most expansive and terrifying yet promising an unforgettable experience for horror enthusiasts. This year’s event features 10 haunted houses, five scare zones, and live entertainment that pushes the boundaries of fear. Highlights include Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, bringing the hit film franchise to life, and A Quiet Place, where the notorious death angels terrorize guests gruesomely.

Additionally, fans of classic horror will enjoy Universal Monsters: Eternal Bloodlines. This house explores Saskia Van Helsing and the Bride of Frankenstein going up against Dracula’s daughter and her monstrous mavens She-Wolf and Anck-su-namun. The scare zones have been meticulously designed to immerse guests in nightmarish worlds as they roam the park.

Other zones, like Duality of Fear and Enter the Blumhouse, create spine-chilling atmospheres with original storylines that deepen the terror. Each zone is filled with roaming scare actors, elaborate sets, and gruesome effects designed to keep guests on edge. Halloween Horror Nights 33 runs on select nights from August 30 through November 3, 2024.

Universal has extended the event’s run due to overwhelming demand, with tickets available for 48 horror nights. Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets early, as the event is expected to sell out, especially on weekends. For those seeking an even more intense experience, Universal offers behind-the-scenes tours, express passes, and exclusive access to themed dining and merchandise.

Every year, as Halloween Horror Nights draws massive crowds to Universal Orlando Resort, reports surface of guests harassing and attempting to bother the scare actors who bring the event’s terrifying scenes to life.

These incidents typically involve guests taunting, touching, or even physically confronting the performers, disrupting the carefully crafted scares, and endangering the actors and the perpetrators. Despite clear guidelines and warnings issued by Universal, some attendees cross the line between enjoying the thrills and interfering with the performers’ work.

Universal Orlando Resort has a zero-tolerance policy for such behavior and has implemented strict measures to protect its scare actors. Security is present throughout the event, with staff trained to respond to any reports of harassment quickly. Offending guests are often escorted from the park and may face permanent bans from future events.

Additionally, Universal encourages guests to report inappropriate behavior, reinforcing the importance of respecting the performers who work to create a safe yet frightening environment. The continued harassment of scare actors raises concerns about maintaining safety and respect during live, interactive events.

Recently, Universal’s team member social site on Instagram posted the following warning for the preview night that will go into the regular evenings for HHN 33, pleading with its team members and guests not to harass the scare actors and not bring prohibited items into the Halloween event.

Don’t bring open beverage bottles, flashlights, or guests (it’s exclusively for UOTMs!)

Don’t wear costumes, costume masks, or full face paint

Don’t distract our scareactors with friendship bracelets or gifts

Universal has increased its efforts to educate guests on appropriate conduct, utilizing social media campaigns and on-site signage to remind attendees that the scare actors are professionals performing a job, not targets for aggressive behavior.

These initiatives aim to ensure that Halloween Horror Nights remains an enjoyable and safe experience for guests and performers. So, if you’re heading to HHN 33 this year, please do not harass the scareactors or do anything that will get you tossed out of the park.

Epic Universe, the next Universal destination, is set to open next year in Orlando, bringing to life the Dark Universe, which will play host to the Frankenstein experiment, Darkmoor Monster Makeup Experience, Frankenstein Manor, and more Universal Pictures monsters.

Another new land will be Celestial Park and the expansion to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, SUPER NINTENDO WORLD, and others. With Universal Studios Florida, Universal Islands of Adventure, Volcano Bay, and soon Epic Universe, this Universal destination will go toe-to-toe with Disney World.
