A popular Harry Potter experience at Universal Studios Florida appears to have disappeared for good. Something wicked this way comes, or so the saying goes.

‘Harry Potter’ Offering Now Vanished From Universal Studios Florida
According to a recent report from MSN, the singing shrunken heads inside Knockturn Alley inside Diagon Alley at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter have officially been removed from the theme park. The spell associated with these props has been deactivated, likely in anticipation of new spells and wands coming to Universal Orlando Resort. Knockturn Alley, an offshoot of Diagon Alley, houses Borgin & Bourkes and several interactive spell locations.
Previously seen in a window, the shrunken heads would entertain guests with jokes and songs until silenced by casting the “Mimblewimble” spell. These heads also paid homage to the Jaws ride, which Diagon Alley replaced, by occasionally singing “Show Me the Way to Go Home” from Jaws. While the heads are absent, other props remain in the window, including a curtain, crates, and lanterns.
There is speculation that the shrunken heads may return, possibly refurbished with a new spell. Several updates in the Wizarding Worlds suggest the introduction of new and updated spells. These changes include updates to the infrared spell cameras, installing a new spell camera in Knockturn Alley, a new tent in Hogsmeade, and updates to the Owl Post window display.

Rumors indicate that new interactive wands may connect to the Universal Orlando Resort app and track achievements, similar to Villain-Con Minion Blast blasters and SUPER NINTENDO WORLD Power-Up bands. While the old interactive wands would still function, they would not connect to the app. These updates are being implemented before Epic Universe’s opening next year, which is expected to fully incorporate the new technology into The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic.
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter still features one interactive shrunken head at the Knight Bus outside Diagon Alley. Inside The Magic formally reported on the new rumor of a slew of new locations coming to the Orlando Universal theme parks at the start of the year. Newly filed permits from the City of Orlando suggest that Universal Orlando Resort is planning a significant overhaul and enhancement of its wand experience throughout portions of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
This development, first reported by Alicia Stella from Orlando Park Stop, indicates that Universal aims to update its wand experience locations inside Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure. The permits, categorized into three distinct stages, detail various aspects of the project, including electrical, plaster, mechanical, and plumbing work. These improvements are expected to streamline and upgrade the interactive wand experiences, enhancing the park’s overall guest experience.

According to the permits, the project involves comprehensive updates to the infrastructure supporting the wand experiences. Universal’s commitment to these enhancements underscores its dedication to maintaining and improving the immersive environments that make The Wizarding World of Harry Potter a standout attraction. The planned overhaul and enhancement of the wand experience at Universal Orlando Resort’s Wizarding World of Harry Potter promise significant improvements for fans.
These updates will likely provide a more seamless and immersive experience, allowing guests to enjoy the interactive wand features more efficiently and with fewer technical issues.
