Ron DeSantis Epic Universe – Florida Governor Discloses Truth About Disney Killer Theme Park

In a press briefing held last week, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis offered brief remarks regarding the settlement agreement reached last week between Disney and The Central Florida Tourism Oversight District. Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure, Volcano Bay, and Universal CityWalk all currently encompass Universal Orlando Resort, with places like Celestial Park, SUPER NINTENDO WORLD, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – The Ministry of Magic, the Dark Universe, and How To Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk will soon join the UOR family.

Reiterating prior assertions, DeSantis emphasized the state’s stance on asserting control over Reedy Creek and nullifying specific covenants, framing these actions as aligned with Florida’s best interests. He further noted that legal challenges against these measures have thus far proven unsuccessful.

However, in a departure from previous rhetoric, DeSantis adopted a more tempered tone and redirected focus onto Disney’s headquarters in Burbank, shifting the onus away from Orlando. When prompted about Disney’s collaboration with the new CFTOD, DeSantis expressed optimism, stating, “I believe it would be beneficial. This signifies progress, which I believe the company aims for. Additionally, much of the controversy surrounding parental rights and educational matters was instigated from Burbank, not Orlando, and this distinction has always been acknowledged.”

Regarding prospective developments, DeSantis alluded to the transformative potential of entities like Universal, particularly with its forthcoming Epic Universe project, suggesting that “Disney can play a role in this evolution.”

DeSantis remarked on Epic Universe, “I anticipate it will be a significant catalyst for change. Its sheer scale surpasses that of Disney’s existing parks combined. Consider the magnitude of its footprint; it’s truly substantial. Therefore, one would anticipate Disney’s response to remain competitive.”

The Governor even speculated about the possibility of Disney constructing another park, stating, “I believe Disney would be inclined to explore such an option. The district stands prepared to engage in negotiations that would benefit the state of Florida, employment prospects, and various other facets.”

Last Thursday morning, Universal Creative unveiled the entire scope of one of its new lands coming to Epic Universe, How To Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk.

Crafted through a collaboration between Universal Creative and esteemed filmmakers from DreamWorks Animation and Universal Pictures, How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk encapsulates the essence, wit, and grandeur of the beloved films. Within this immersive experience lies an authentic rendition of the rugged, rocky world, where spirited Vikings and mischievous dragons coexist in uproarious unity.

A DeSantis Epic Universe partnership is in store for Universal in the coming months. With the Florida Governor still having beef with Walt Disney World Resort, it would make sense for DeSantis to support Disney’s direct competitor.
