The Disney theme parks are known for their vast collection of dark rides, thrilling attractions, and impeccable live entertainment, all of which work together to form one of the best theme park experiences guests can find. From Magic Kingdom to Tokyo Disney, there’s no end in sight to all of the incredibly magical adventures that await.
However, one of the coolest aspects of a Disney resort is the castle that sits at the center of the park. Whether it’s Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom or Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland, you can bet your Mickey Ears that you will be greeted by a visually stunning castle at the end of Main Street U.S.A.
These castles are large, but they use forced perspective to really emphasize the idea of them being massive. Magic Kingdom’s Cinderella Castle stands roughly 200 feet tall, comparable to other tall rides and attractions like The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and Expedition Everest.
Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland is different, standing at just 77 feet tall. Disneyland as a whole is a lot smaller than Walt Disney World due to the land restrictions it faces, being located in a densely-populated city like Anaheim. Regardless, both of these castles are as stunning as the rest and act as true icons of the Disney theme parks. However, Disneyland Paris‘ Sleeping Beauty Castle may take the cake when it comes to beauty and detail, offering guests a visual experience unlike any other.

Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland Paris is breathtaking to look at, blending the beautiful and lush green landscape into the gorgeous castle. Each Disney castle is unique in its own way, but Disneyland Paris’ version really does feature the most detail. Unfortunately, this castle has been seriously damaged.
Earlier this year, reports started coming out regarding the state of the iconic Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland Paris, with photos revealing parts of the castle had been significantly damaged over time. However, the inside of the castle is also damaged.
Thankfully, Disneyland Paris news organization DLP Report (@DLPReport) shared some exciting news regarding the state of Sleeping Beauty Castle, saying that Disney does, in fact, have a plan.

As to what this plan means exactly is still unknown, but it’s great news that Disney is actually looking into these issues. As you can see in the photos above, the castle turrets have severe wear and tear, most likely due to prolonged exposure to the elements.
Parts of the bridge that brings guests into the castle are also damaged, with parts of the concrete chipping and cracking.
Disneyland Paris opened in 1992 and has quite a rich history within The Walt Disney Company. The resort was originally titled Euro Disneyland and faced massive financial issues after opening, mostly due to less-than-expected attendance. For years, Disneyland Paris was considered a failure until things eventually picked back up. Today, Disneyland Paris is one of Europe’s most popular tourist destinations and a consistent money maker for The Walt Disney Company.
