Kali River Rapids will be reopening earlier than expected, with the refurbishment being cut short by one day. Kali River Rapids was originally intended to reopen to guests on March 16 but will now be reopening on March 15. The attraction closed back in January, as most water rides do, leaving Disney’s Animal Kingdom with even less to do in the way of thrill rides.

Kali River Rapids is located in the Asia section of Disney’s Animal Kingdom near other attractions like Expedition Everest. As we’ve mentioned in the past, Kali River Rapids is not for everyone. For many guests, this ride is a fun-filled adventure, and for others, it’s a miserable experience that will leave you soaked for the rest of the day.

If you’re not willing to get a little wet, you may want to avoid this one, as it has the chance to drench you in water. Complaints regarding this ride have rolled in since the dawn of time, with most guests complaining about how short the overall experience is. We have to admit that if Kali River Rapids was just a tiny bit longer, getting soaked wouldn’t be so bad.  We constantly see people avoid this attraction while others look forward to cooling off on those hot and humid Florida days. Trust us, it’s not just a more intense Splash Mountain.

Speaking of Splash Mountain, Kali River Rapids is currently the only water ride offered at the Walt Disney World Resort, with Splash Mountain closing at the start of 2023. However, this won’t be the case for long, with Tiana’s Bayou Adventure set to open this summer at the Magic Kingdom.

This new attraction will replace the iconic and legendary log glume ride known as Splash Mountain at both Walt Disney World and Disneyland and will feature tons of new animatronics, new music, and, of course, the titular Princess Tiana herself. The attraction has been in development for several years and is arguably one of the most divisive things The Walt Disney Company has done within its theme park division.

Regardless, the new ride looks to be incredibly fun and a worthy addition to the already magical Magic Kingdom.

Are you excited to ride Kali River Rapids again? Are you excited about Tiana’s Bayou Adventure?
