With this year’s Star Wars Celebration already halfway done, fans are thrilled to hear all the news coming out of London. Along with the recent live-action series on Disney+, Dave Filoni has given Star Wars fans an abundance of animated content over the past decade. From The Clone Wars to Rebels, Filoni has been a part of every major animated series for the franchise. Last year,  the genius gave us his latest animated hit, Tales of the Jedi.

Tales of the Jedi is unique because it’s a collection of short stories based on Jedi from the prequel era. Jedi such as Mace Windu, Ahsoka Tano, and even Anakin Skywalker make an appearance, all voiced by the original cast of The Clone Wars. Each story focuses on a different Jedi master, but they all have a connection through the Force which links the series together. Although it was a short six-episode series, it was well-received by audiences.  The show currently has one of the highest Rotten Tomato scores for a Star Wars series among critics and fans.

This weekend at the Star Wars Celebration in London, Filoni surprised those in attendance by making an announcement (one of many). “Tales of the Jedi was so fun the first time, I decided to do some more,” said Filoni during a panel celebrating the 15th anniversary of The Clone Wars.

Heard from the man’s mouth himself, fans can look forward to a second season of the show coming soon. Unfortunately, there was no release date, footage, or any word on how many more shorts will be featured.

Fans will just have to continue to wait for more details, but there is plenty of celebration left to go in London, and you never know what they might reveal next.
