The Disney Parks and Resorts are filled with iconic and classic experiences. From “it’s a small world” and Pirates of the Caribbean to Peter Pan’s Flight and Haunted Mansion, Disney knows how to make a great ride.
Despite all this, there may not be a ride or attraction more synonymous with Disney than Space Mountain. The ride first opened at the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World and has been a hit ever since. The roller coaster proved to be so popular that a total of five different versions can be found worldwide, with one at Disneyland, Tokyo Disneyland, Disneyland Paris, and Hong Kong Disneyland with each giving a new spin to the Space Mountain name.

However, the original at the Orlando, Florida Resort has been enjoyed by millions over the last few decades and is consistently one of the most popular rides at the Walt Disney World Resort.
With TRON Lightcycle/Run about to open in Tomorrowland at the Magic Kingdom, many Guests and fans alike are wondering how the dynamic of the Park will change. One thing’s for sure, though, and it’s that Space Mountain has been getting a lot of attention from Disney in anticipation of the new TRON roller coaster.
The iconic exterior has actually been given a new color, with Disney swapping the baby blue on at the base with a neutral tan color. Theme park reporter Alicia Stella also shared a few images of thew new color, which you can see down below:

We aren’t exactly sure why Disney decided to swap the colors, and we can’t officially say whether we like the new paint job or not. However, it’s exciting to see Disney giving such a beloved attraction some TLC.
Like we said, TRON Lightcycle/Run will open at the Magic Kingdom very soon, with the grand opening happening this April.
