The magic has slowly been returning to Disneyland in California and Walt Disney World in Florida after theme park pandemic closures, with new nighttime spectaculars, merchandise, and magical surprises greeting Guests in the Parks.
EARidescent magic for Walt Disney World’s 50th celebration is everywhere you look when you enter the Resort based in Orlando. From the Beacons of Magic at Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom, to new merchandise collections at Disney Springs, Guests have a lot to look forward to on their next visit to the Walt Disney World Resort.
One family, however, has brought the magic to their own home, creating a wonderful backyard tribute to Mickey Mouse himself.
As Disney Resorts across the globe continue their phased reopenings, Disney Guests have been able to still see characters around the theme parks in cavalcades, nighttime shows, and Park sightings.
Over in Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World, Mickey Mouse is now donning his 50th anniversary outfit and greeting Guests for the first time since March 2020. Both Princess Fairytale Hall and Town Square Theater have reopened at Magic Kingdom as Disney Princesses and Mickey Mouse return for meet and greets, albeit modified.
Morgan Stewart’s family, however, chose to bring Mickey to their own backyard, creating an incredible lawn transformation and documenting their progress in a series of videos on TikTok.
While some Disney fans may just have bits of Disney merchandise in their home, like kitchenware, signs, and Minnie ears, others may tend to take things a step further. Wacky World Studios YouTube channel recently showcased an in-home transformation where they recreated the Haunted Mansion stretching room in their own house, and now, we have a Disney patio to envy.
Morgan Stewart (@morgan_stewart14) received over 20 million views and 5,000 comments when she posted footage of her parents’ determination to her TikTok account.
Morgan documented their hard work, from digging a Mickey-shaped hole in the garden, all the way to the fire pit and chairs when they were finally finished:
The Mickey Mouse shape hole in the backyard was filled with gravel, cement, and stones before paving slabs were installed and the iconic shape defined.
Their Disney-themed patio was complete once the fire pit and new chairs were placed – creating an amazing and magical hangout area for all Disney fans to envy!
We wish we had the space to install something like this in our own backyard, with the patio reminding us of areas in Disney Resort hotels like Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Disney’s All-Star Resorts, or the Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim.
Whether or not you’re a Disney fan, the hard work and effort from these Disney-loving parents is inspiring, with Morgan’s parents clearly putting a lot of love into their DIY garden transformation.
We can only imagine the fun memories and Disney happiness they’ll enjoy in their new backyard.
