For the second-consecutive year, Toy Story Land holiday decorations at Disney’s Hollywood Studios are missing.
Inside, the Magic was in the parks this weekend and can confirm that while there are decorations in other areas of the Park, Toy Story Land remains barren. Previously, Disney had placed decorations through the land, including a scarf on Woody as you enter Toy Story Land, a Ham sugar cookie, giant alien ornaments, and popcorn strings.
Walt Disney World did not decorate Toy Story Land, as well as Park restaurants, last year due to budget cuts and staff shortages, and it seems some of those changes may still be in effect this year.
While there are still Christmas decorations sprinkled throughout the parks– including the iconic tree on Main Street, U.S.A. in Magic Kingdom– many Disney fans are beginning to fear these cuts will be permanent moving forward, and there is certainly a noticeable difference when you visit the Parks now versus the pre-pandemic era.
Inside the Magic was previously told that last year’s pandemic has affected what the Parks were once able to do.
“Holiday decorations are this year predominantly focused in the main hub areas of the Parks. Last year’s pandemic affected the amount of Cast Members available to transform all areas into their traditional holiday magic.”
While decorations may be less extensive than in years before the pandemic, Disney is ramping back up its holiday traditions with Disney’s Very Merriest After Hours returning, as well as many other events and celebrations. Just recently, more Park reservations were made available for the holiday season and the New Year in anticipation of more Guests making their way to Parks.
