Earlier this year, the popular Rise of the Resistance ride at Disney’s Hollywood Studios decided to pause virtual queues and move to a standby line. Now, as we approach the holidays, and more familiar are visiting Walt Disney World, Guests continue to flock to Disney’s Hollywood Studios to attempt to get in line and experience Rise of the Resistance.
In fact, on December 23, the wait time for Rise of the Resistance was 200-minutes before 10:30 a.m.!
As seen in the screenshot above, taken at approximately 10:20 a.m., the line for Rise of the Resistance sat at a 200-minute wait.
We have seen an increase in wait times overall at Walt Disney World as we approach the holidays, but ever since Rise of the Resistance moved to a standby queue, the wait time as sat anywhere between 100-minutes and a 220-minute wait. In fact, the first day Rise of the Resistance offered a standby line, Guests poured into the Park at rope drop as they anxiously awaited for Cast Members to open Galaxy’s Edge to the public. This is one of the days the ride hit a 220-minute wait.
We have noticed that as the day goes on, the queue for Rise of the Resistance tends to drop and suggest if you want to avoid the morning rush, to check back later in the evening for lower wait times. As always, check the My Disney Experience app for the most updated information regarding wait times and ride breakdowns, or check with a nearby Cast Member.
