Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water park is a tropical oasis at Walt Disney World Resort, featuring waterslides, a surf pool, a lazy river, and more. However, due to the ongoing pandemic, the water park remains closed to Guests.
Blizzard Beach, Disney’s other water park, reopened to Guests earlier in the year, but Disney has remained silent on when Typhoon Lagoon would reopen, until now.
In a recent Disney Parks Blog post, Disney hinted that Typhoon Lagoon could reopen in the near future. When discussing new celebratory treats for Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary, Disney Parks Blog stated:
At Disney’s Water Parks, celebratory treats are available now and in the future at several locations:
Avalunch at Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park (Snack Shack at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park when reopened)
Even though Disney did not state a specific date, or even a timeline, they did insinuate that Typhoon Lagoon would reopen to Guests sometime during the 50th anniversary as these celebratory treats would eventually be available at the water park.
We also know Disney has been filing permits for work inside Typhoon Lagoon, also indicating that they are gearing up for the reopening of the water park.
Again, at this time, due to the ongoing pandemic, Typhoon Lagoon remains closed, and a reopening date has yet to be announced. However, Inside the Magic will keep you updated as we get information regarding this Disney World water park.
