If you have been to Disney World as of late, you know that there have been a lot of new additions to the theme parks.
With the 50th anniversary celebrations beginning on October 1, we saw the start of a lot of new shows. At Magic Kingdom, Disney Enchantment took over Happily Ever After, lighting up the night sky and Cinderella Castle. At EPCOT, the highly anticipated Harmonious debuted, and at Animal Kingdom, we got our only new daytime show, Disney KiteTails.
Disney KiteTails has been a highly talked about the show, as it has been unlike any other that we have seen in the past. KiteTails utilizes massive kites that look as big as a parade float to bring an animal party to Guests. The giant kites have been posing as an issue at times, flipping the jet ski and rider due to the strength that the kite entails. The floats also land in an interesting way, sometimes on the water, but when done correctly, into an empty section of the stands, which looks a little more like a crash. That being said, many Disney Guests have grown to love the show and all of its imperfections, as you truly never know what is about to happen.
Today, however, it seems Animal Kingdom fans will not be able to see the show, as all shows and performances have been canceled due to the gusty weather. If we look at the Disney KiteTails page on their website, we can see that it is listed as no performances today.
Typically, shows would happen at the following times:
12:15 p.m., 1:15 p.m., 3:15 p.m., 4:15 p.m.
Taking Magic to New Heights
Hearts and imaginations will soar as elaborate, 3-dimensional kites and incredible windcatchers dance through the air to the beat of beloved Disney songs during this high-flying performance at Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park. Be awed by 2 unique, 10-minute shows:

A show inspired by The Jungle Book, featuring kites of King Louie, Baloo and more
Watch as the magic takes flight above the Discovery River Theater during the 50th anniversary celebration of Walt Disney World Resort.
According to the website, it shows that all showtimes will be running as regularly scheduled starting tomorrow. That being said, weather can always alter, change, or cancel any outdoor show at Walt Disney World, so always be on the lookout for changes.
