When Guests board an attraction at any Disney Park, they often tend to think that they will be exiting at the designated dock, whether that be where they boarded the ride or another area set to stop off Guests.
In the majority of instances, this is exactly how Guests would experience an attraction, but that being said, there is always a possibility of something going awry. At Disneyland Paris, we recently saw ‘it’s a small world’ evacuated. Of course, with the attraction being a boat ride, it is always a more difficult evacuation process for Guests and Cast Members, as the water must be avoided. Thanks to RH Tube, we can see precisely how that evacuation happens when the point of “land” is too far from the boat, and the ride vehicle is no longer moving.
RH Tube seemed to be experiencing a few technical difficulties while riding ‘it’s a small world’ The beginning of the ride goes off without a hitch when suddenly the music comes to a stop. The Guests continued to float in their boats when suddenly, they stopped as well.
The Guests were notified over the speakers to remain patients, and that help was on the way. Once the Cast Members arrived, you can even hear the Guests in the boat say, “our rescuers are coming.” With the work lights on, the boats began traveling backward as they moved to the evacuation point, all while Cast Members followed the backward moving boats while in the water, wearing appropriate waders.
In the video, we can see the Cast Members holding the boats close with poles so that Guests could exit directly onto the evacuation platform, just as they would have at the natural exit!

Disneyland Paris describes the attraction as:
Sing along to the classic anthem of world peace during a delightful musical boat tour hosted by the children of the world. From a colourful dock, climb aboard a cosy boat and set sail along the Seven Seaways Waterway on a 10-minute journey.
Amid a vibrant, multi-coloured backdrop exquisitely crafted out of papier-mâché, glitter and fabric, behold a cast of almost 300 traditionally dressed dolls from nearly every corner of the globe sing a simple song in their native language about universal harmony and dance. Travel to all 7 continents and, by journey’s end, see for yourself that it truly is a small world after all.
Whenever an evacuation happens, rest assured that all Cast Members are trained and equipped to ensure your safety at all times.
