As previously announced, both FastPass+ at Walt Disney World and MaxPass at Disneyland will be retired, and instead, Lightning Lane will debut — a paid service.

Disney is prepping the Parks for the debut of Lightning Lane as we have already seen several Lightning Lane signs installed at a variety of attractions, replacing the old FastPass+ signage. Now, we are also seeing Disney World remove the old FastPass+ kiosks from certain areas of the theme parks.

bioreconstruct shared the following photo in a thread of Tweets that shows the FastPass+ kiosks at EPCOT have been removed. Per bioreconstruct:

Fastpass kiosks removed here at EPCOT. Interesting that they were wired through the construction fence. These were originally in the Innoventions West breezeway and relocated here as demolition continued.

Lightning Lane will be part of the soon-to-be Disney Genie digital service. Disney Genie itself is free, but it will have an available upgrade option, which is called Genie+. The Disney Genie+ option has a flat fee of $15 a person per day, which will give users access to Lightning Lane for a variety of attractions. You can find a full list of attractions and more details on our website here.

Walt Disney World Guests can expect to have Disney Genie appearing in their My Disney Experience app starting on October 19, 2021.
