On October 1, 2021 Magic Kingdom debuted a brand-new fireworks show, Disney Enchantment, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World. In order to make way for this new nighttime spectacular, we had to say goodbye to the fan-favorite show, Happily Ever After, which sparkled into Disney history on September 29, 2021.
Once Disney Enchantment made its official debut, many fans did not hesitate to take to social media to share their honest thoughts and opinions on the show. Despite some of the backlash, we were curious which of these nighttime shows actually included more fireworks and pyrotechnics — Disney Enchantment or Happily Ever After?
We came across this YouTube video from The Great Marko, which includes a side-by-side view of both Disney Enchantment and Happily Ever After with an actual count of just how many fireworks each nighttime show includes.
Within a matter of a minute and a half, Disney Enchantment already had 17 fireworks set off with Happily Ever After sitting at zero, as seen in the screenshot above.
During the “Out There” scene of Happily Ever After, which is about four minutes in, Happily Ever After did start to catch up to Disney Enchantment’s fireworks count. As seen in the screenshot above, Happily Ever After sat at 91 fireworks with Disney Enchantment sitting at 96.
Skipping ahead to the end of both shows, despite Disney Enchantment being about three minutes shorter than Happily Ever After, it actually contains approximately 40 more fireworks!
