On September 10, Disney announced that The Happiest Place on Earth would be getting its very own holiday after-hours event. Disney Merriest Nites will be coming to Disneyland Park for 5 nights only, beginning on November 11. While Walt Disney World has had Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and now has Disney Very Merriest After Hours, Disneyland Park is now getting its own holiday event.
Merriest Nites will feature six themed parties that will happen throughout Disneyland Park. Guests can celebrate the holidays with Mickey and his friends, Miguel, Tiana, and more during this special event. There will also be specialty food and merchandise and even rare character interactions available for Guests who attend the new event.
While the theme park will fully immerse Guests in all of the holiday magic that Disney can offer, it is important to note that the WHOLE Park will not be open during Merriest Nites. Certain lands at Disneyland Park will be closed during the party, including the Park’s newest land.
According to the Disneyland Resort website, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will be closed during Disney Merriest Nites. That means that, although attractions will be open, Guests attending the after-hours event will not be able to ride Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run or Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance — which is one of the most popular rides at the Park.
In addition to Galaxy’s Edge, Mickey’s ToonTown and Critter Country will also be closed during the event. Note that at this time, Disney has not yet released a complete list of all of the attractions that will be available during Disney Merriest Nites, so we will have to wait and see which attractions will and won’t be available to ride. But keep in mind that ToonTown, Critter Country, and Galaxy’s Edge will be closed during the five-event nights, per the Disneyland website.
After-Hours Access to Attractions
Ride some of the park’s classic attractions—including holiday favorites like “it’s a small world” Holiday and Haunted Mansion Holiday—throughout the event, usually with shorter wait times. (Access to Mickey’s Toontown, Critter Country and Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will not be available during event hours.)
Tickets for Disney’s Merriest Nites will go on sale on September 14 no earlier than 9 a.m. PT and prices begin at $165. Guests attending Merriest Nites will be able to enter Disneyland Park beginning at 5 p.m. on the night of their party and the event will officially begin at 8 p.m.
