As of late, we have been reporting on extremely low crowds and decently low wait times at Walt Disney World compared to earlier in the summer. With the low wait times also comes empty queues — something Guests do not typically see!
With wait times being less than 30-minutes for many popular rides, others become practically walk-ons. Well, on a recent trip to Disney’s Animal Kingdom, we were met with an extremely rare sight — an empty Flight of Passage queue!
In both the images above and below, you can see that the Flight of Passage queue is completely empty! Typically, these lines get backed up as Guests cannot wait to ride on the back of a banshee and virtually visit the world of Pandora; however, when we were visiting Animal Kingdom yesterday, September 2, the theme park was completely empty.
When we went on Flight of Passage, it had a posted wait time of 10-minutes and there were only three other parties standing in the line with us as we waited for the pre-show rooms to become available.
It is important to keep in mind that wait times will continue to change throughout the day and for the most up-to-date information, make sure you download the My Disney Experience app to your smartphone.
Additionally, we do want to mention that during the Walt Disney Company Q3 earnings call last week, it was mentioned that Disney World, which has been open for more than a year, is still seeing a “strong per cap growth continue in the Park”.
At the time of publication, we still have yet to hear an exact number when it comes to Park capacity, but that last confirmed number was 35%, which was released earlier this year.
More on Flight of Passage
If you have never ridden on the back of a banshee at Avatar — Flight of Passage, Walt Disney World describes this thrilling attraction as:
Board your own mountain banshee and embark on a thrilling expedition, where interstellar explorers like you get an up-close look at this moon’s incredible landscape.
Bonding with a banshee is a crucial step in the life of a Na’vi hunter on Pandora—and flying on the back of one of these powerful creatures is an important rite of passage.
Now, as a visitor to Pandora, you finally have the chance to test yourself like a Na’vi!
