EPCOT Ride Queue Is Deserted as Wait Times Drastically Drop

in Walt Disney World

As of late, we have been reporting on decently low wait times at Walt Disney World compared to earlier in the summer when Pirates of the Caribbean, The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, and Jungle Cruise were all sitting at a steady 60+ minute wait.

And with the low wait times comes another rare sight at Walt Disney World — empty queues! With wait times being less than 30-minutes for many popular rides, others become practically walk-ons. On a recent trip to EPCOT, Guests were met with a completely empty Soarin’ queue — something many do not typically see.

Reddit user dankernuggets7 took to the social media platform to share a recent photo of the Soarin’ Around the World queue, located inside The Land pavilion in EPCOT, which was clearly a walk-on.

In the photo below, you can see that not another Guest could be seen in this area of the queue, which typically backs up as Guests have to wait several minutes for the pre-show to prepare for take off.

Additionally, when EPCOT opened on Tuesday, August 24, Soarin’ sat at a shocking 10-minute wait, which you can see reflected in the screenshot below!

It is important to keep in mind that wait times will continue to change throughout the day and for the most up-to-date information, make sure you download the My Disney Experience app to your smartphone.

Additionally, we do want to mention that during the Walt Disney Company Q3 earnings call last week, it was mentioned that Disney World, which has been open for more than a year, is still seeing a “strong per cap growth continue in the Park”.

At the time of publication, we still have yet to hear an exact number when it comes to Park capacity, but that last confirmed number was 35%, which was released earlier this year.

Your journey begins as the clouds part above the majestic Swiss Alps. Next, you’ll visit polar bears in icy Greenland, swoop past sailboats on Australia’s iconic Sydney Harbour and weave between elephants marching toward Mount Kilimanjaro.

Glide above marvels like the Great Wall of China, the Great Pyramids of Egypt and the Taj Mahal in India. Cruise over Monument Valley, Fiji’s Lau Island and thundering Iguazu Falls in South America. Look down on the Eiffel Tower as it sparkles like a jewel in the night, surrounded by the lights of Paris.

A Triumph for the Senses

The 180-degree, 80-foot IMAX digital projection dome, spectacular aerial footage, pleasant scents and graceful motion raise the soothing sensation of flight to incredible new heights.

Throughout your flight, you’ll be treated to the uplifting musical score, adapted by composer Bruce Broughton from the attraction’s unforgettable original score written by Academy Award-winner Jerry Goldsmith.
