Disney's Contemporary Resort Receives Jaw-Dropping Transformation - Inside the Magic

As the 50th anniversary approaches Walt Disney World, we are starting to see a lot more changes fill the Resort.

Not only are the parks getting ready for the celebration, but the surrounding Resorts are making sure they are looking their best, too! Disney’s Contemporary Resort lobby has been under refurbishment for the past couple of months. The lobby is located on the first floor of the Resort and also gives Guests access to the Disney busses, which will take them to the Parks and Disney Springs.

Recently, the construction walls have come down from the lobby space, and it looks fantastic! Considering the Contemporary Resort is meant to look contemporary, an update to the furniture was truly needed. Now, the lobby has a mid-century modern feel with a Mary Blair twist that has us swooning!

The first thing Guest will see when they walk in is a new mural, which also gives a nod to the one located on the third floor of the hotel.

The mural extends throughout the lobby, with new couches and furniture to match.

Next to the check-in desk, Guests can also use the tables as a workstation or just as an area to lounge in.

Off to the right, younger Guests can enjoy a Disney film while waiting for their parents to check-in.

We also can see that Steakhouse 71 is ready to open! This restaurant took over The Wave and will open on October 1. As you may notice, the 71 logo looks a lot like the Contemporary Resort, which is a nice little touch.

The new lobby has a much more timeless feel, with concept art of the hotel framed throughout. It will surely give Guests a sense of luxury when they enter and creates a much better connection and flow throughout the Resort when it comes to theming, especially with the new mural design and artwork.

With Disney’s Contemporary Resort steps from Magic Kingdom, this is one of the most popular and coveted locations for Guests to stay at while on property!
