Disney’s Contemporary Resort is arguably one of the most popular Disney Resorts on property!
Aside from being one of the original Disney World Resorts, the Contemporary is the closest Resort to Magic Kingdom. Guests can either walk five minutes to the entrance or ride the monorail, which iconically passes through the Resort. Plus, with Happily Ever After returning on July 1, Guests at the Resort can get some of the best views of the show without actually having to be in the Park.
Disney’s Contemporary Resort has recently been heavily discussed by fans, as Disney has just released the refurbished Incredibles-themed rooms. Now that many of the Contemporary rooms are filled with the Pixar IP, Disney fans have been debating all over social media regarding their appreciation or distaste for the new changes.
It seems that Disney is not stopping at the rooms when it comes to upgrading the Contemporary. If we take a look at the Disney World website, we can see that from July 16 through to September 2021, the first-floor lobby of the Resort, which features the front desk and concierge, will be under refurbishment and located on the second floor.
We do not know exactly what kind of refurbishments will occur in the first-floor lobby, but it will surely be magical! When the first floor shuts down, The Wave will also undergo a refurbishment, which is another project we have yet to receive too many details on.
For now, Guests can continue to enjoy the other floors of Disney’s Contemporary Resort, including the third floor, which houses Chef Mickey’s, Contempo Café, and the Outer Rim bar! Guests will find the elevator entrance and check-in for the illustrious California Grill on the second floor, which offers sweeping views of the Magic Kingdom Resort area.
