Credit: @wdwruffaloWith the 50th anniversary only weeks away, Disney World is ramping up its speed when it comes to making sure all of the property decorations are in place!
We have seen Cinderella Castle get a new regal makeover, Main Street, U.S.A. along with Fantasyland are receiving some touches of gold and pops of color, Spaceship Earth at EPCOT is being revamped, Disney’s Hollywood Studios will have Tower of Terror shimmering, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom will have projections illuminating the Tree of Life. On top of that, Guests can expect new shows such as Disney Enchantment, Harmonious, and Disney KiteTails. The list of offerings only continues to grow!
Some of the more recent additions we have seen at the parks have been plaques on the Walt Disney World Resort property entrance, new banners announcing the celebrations, busses decorated for the event, and now, there is a monorail that has been completely transformed!
Typically, Guests are used to seeing monorails that are white with a colored stripe on them. Now, they can try and spot the new blue wrap that showcases Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse! The new monorail has just debuted today and highlights the 50th anniversary with an adorable Chip and Dale in their anniversary get-up, as well.
Alex in Disney (@wdwruffalo) shared a photo of the monorail this morning as it was passing through Disney’s Contemporary Resort, and it looks great! This will be a fantastic new touch that Guests will be able to see daily to remind them of the special occasion they are a part of.

It seems that this wrap was overlaid on the gold monorail, which is fitting as gold is one of the key colors for the 50th anniversary celebration. We do not yet know if all monorails will be wrapped with this new decor, as it seems that there is just one active monorail with the wrap at the moment.

As a reminder, the 50th anniversary will last 18 months, so Guests will have plenty of time to see this new monorail and ride in Disney style! With the monorail adding the 50th decor to the wrap, we just need the boats to show some 50th anniversary decor off, and all modes of transport will be a part of the celebration!
