Part of Camp Minnie-Mickey Can Still Be Found at Animal Kingdom - Inside the Magic

If you are looking for some Disney Parks nostalgia, we have a hidden gem to share with you all!

Many of you may be familiar with Camp Minnie-Mickey — a now-closed section of Disney’s Animal Kingdom. If you aren’t familiar, Camp Minnie-Mickey was a section at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, themed to the woodlands of North America and was home to the Festival of the Lion King as well as various character meet-and-greet opportunities. The land closed in 2014 so that Imagineers could begin work on Pandora — The World of Avatar. 

What you may not realize is that part of Camp Minnie-Mickey can still be found in Disney’s Animal Kingdom!

As we mentioned earlier, Camp Minnie-Mickey closed in order to make way for Pandora — The World of Avatar in 2014, but if you are missing the nostalgia of this iconic area of Disney’s Animal Kingdom, you can still find part of Camp Minnie-Mickey inside a restaurant at the theme park!

Prior to Camp Minnie-Mickey closing, there were totem poles that lined the entrance walkway into the area. Now, those iconic totem poles can be found inside Tiffins restaurant!

These totem poles were actually hand carved in Bali and are covered with detailed animals, according to one source. When looking at the details of these poles, you can clearly see the delicacy that was used when creating these pieces of art and we are so happy to see them continue to have a home at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, despite Camp Minnie-Mickey closing in 2014.
