In a galaxy far, far away… Disney has recently revealed more details for its highly ambitious Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser hotel which is coming soon to Walt Disney World. While Disney Parks fans were anticipating high prices for this much-anticipated hotel experience some were still left with sticker shock after the prices were revealed.
Here is how the price for an experience on the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser compares to staying at one of Walt Disney World’s Deluxe Resorts.

A Walt Disney World Vacation is known to have a hefty price tag attached. Walt Disney World offers a variety of different level Resort accommodations to fit any budget, the upcoming Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser is not a cost-saving option. From Value Resorts to Moderate, and even Deluxe accommodations Disney World truly offers something for everyone.
The Galactic Starcruiser will not fit into any of these categories, however, as the hotel will operate more as an experience in and of itself, rather than simply accommodations for your vacation.

Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser will operate much like a cruise ship. Offering meals, entertainment, and more when you pay to stay in a “cabin”. Cabin pricing depends on how many Guests are staying inside, which is again similar to a cruise ship. The Galactic Starcruiser will even host a gala at the end of your voyage that is similar to a formal night.
For the cost of nearly $5,000, two Guests can enjoy a two-day experience at the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser hotel.

While that does seem overly costly, let’s compare what two nights look like at a Walt Disney World Deluxe Resort to the price of the Galactic Starcruiser.
Choosing Walt Disney World most expensive and luxurious hotel, The Grand Floridian Resort and Spa for comparison. I decided to pick dates that were within the dates listed for the prices of the Galactic Starcruiser given by Disney.

For a total of $2,303, you could stay two nights at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. However, there is a reason why it costs less to stay at the most expensive Walt Disney World Resort than take a trip on the Galactic Starcruiser.
The Grand Floridian is not an all-inclusive experience. Staying at a club-level room gives the best comparison to the Galactic Starcruiser, as these rooms have access to free breakfast and light refreshment during the day. The upcoming Star Wars hotel will include full meals.
The Galactic Starcruiser will also include theme park admission to visit Galaxy’s Edge which is located in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The proposed stay at the Grand Floridian does not have theme park tickets included in the room’s price.

Your visit into Batuu will include a guaranteed ride on the Rise of the Resistance attraction which regular Guests visiting Disney’s Hollywood Studios can only enter a lottery system to get a chance to ride on. Staying at the Grand Floridian does not offer any front-of-the-line perks for any attraction.
So while the price for staying at the Galactic Starcruiser may be high, for a die-hard Star Wars fanatic it is the perfect all-inclusive getaway. Looking for more Star Wars?
