D'Amaro Says Fans Shouldn't Be Overwhelmed By Disney Genie, Here's Why - Inside the Magic

Coming this fall to Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort, Disney Genie is a complimentary and convenient new digital service designed to create your best Disney day! Disney Genie will be built right into the My Disney Experience and Disneyland apps, making the service easy to access.

Some of the features Disney Genie will provide include itinerary updates, flexibility, and more! Additionally, Disney announced both FastPass+ at Walt Disney World and MaxPass at Disneyland will be retired and instead Lightning Lane will debut.

But with so much information surrounding the Disney Genie, many fans were feeling a bit overwhelmed. Well, Josh D’Amaro, Chairman, Disney Parks, Experiences and Products, recently sat down with D23 to answer some of the burning questions relating to the Disney Genie, including why fans shouldn’t feel overwhelmed by the Disney Genie.

When asked “For fans, hearing all of this is a lot of new information. What do you say to the Guest who hears this and is overwhelmed?” D’Amaro responded with:

Number one, our focus is on a better Guest experience. So we started with that premise. Change, particularly with Disney and our super fans, is hard to take in. Experience, though, suggests that when we introduce these new products, like MaxPass, we markedly improve the Guest experience. We are operating in the best interest of our super fans. This Disney Genie suite of products will make the experience better. Change is not simple, but we will be in a better position once this is introduced to market.

We know this can feel like information overload, but it seems that Disney has taken everything fans have been suggesting into consideration and has really worked hard on creating the Disney Genie to enhance the Guest experience.

As D’Amaro said, the Disney Genie will provide a suite of products that will make the experience better and is operating in the best interest of Disney’s “super fans”.
