For Guests visiting Magic Kingdom Park at the Walt Disney World Resort on August 31, be prepared to not see the traditional fireworks lighting up the night sky. Disney has canceled the fireworks portion of Happily Ever After, but says that projections on Cinderella Castle will remain.

Disney sent out a push notification to Guests through the My Disney Experience app. The notice said the following:
Happily Ever After will be modified tonight to only include projection on Cinderella Castle without fireworks. Guests can visit EPCOT for a nighttime spectacular viewing of EPCOT Forever, with valid admision. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Disney did not say why the fireworks were being canceled, but last night, smoke was seen coming from the Magic Kingdom while Disney was testing its new fireworks show, Disney Enchantment on August 30. Disney Enchantment will take over for Happily Ever After on October 1, when Disney World begins its 50 Anniversary celebration.
It is unclear if tonight’s cancellation has to do with the fire and smoke that was seen last night.

Here is some more information on Happily Ever After from the Disney World website:
