We’ve seen that representation matters. Part of that representation is a reflection of your fan base, including all types of people, families, and groups that visit Walt Disney World Resort. Not long ago, Disney redid their Disney’s Hollywood Studios theme park brochure and map to feature a same-sex couple wearing Mickey Mouse ear hats, jumping gleefully towards Grauman’s Chinese Theater.

A short time later, another map was released featuring children with prosthetics on the cover, wielding Jedi lightsabers in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. The beautiful thing about these maps is Disney is showcasing it’s guest populations.

Scrolling down on Walt Disney World Resort’s main page, we find the “Magic Awaits” section, luring visitors to book a Disney vacation package and seeing if new offerings may entice them to do so. Pictured here is an LGBTQ family, with their children munching down on classic Mickey premium ice cream bars. It’s a quintessential Disney Park experience to taste one of these chilly delights.

The family laughs, shares desserts, and generally expresses feelings of joy and delight – feelings that Disney wants you to carry throughout your Disney vacation planning. And when you arrive on Disney property, you’ll inevitably see Disney’s authentic self, shining through. “The Disney look” was updated to allow Cast Members to be more inclusive of their true selves, as well as becoming more gender-inclusive.
