When an actor gets cast in a role, they need to find a way to embody that character and bring it to life. Although many talented actors do this successfully quite often, some are so exceptional that viewers cannot imagine anyone else in that role.

A few days ago, Twitter user Maddie (@maddiebckley) posed a question, asking her followers what character, in their mind, at least, was perfectly cast for a specific role, making them irreplaceable:

who is one character you believe was PERFECTLY cast? like the role was just made for that actor and nobody else could embody it they way they did?

The Tweet blew up with over 50,000 likes and more than 25,000 responses to the question! There were many answers and suggestions from fellow Twitter users. An honorable mention goes out to Robert Downey, Jr. as Iron Man, a name listed by many. Dunning-Kruger Poe’s Law (@FunnyFarmer5150) said:

Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man

His performance made me a fan of an entire genre I had no interest in, and I wasn’t even a huge fan of his before…

But zero people could have played that part. Perfection.

Aside from that, it seems that the top three names that came up more often than any others were Ryan Reynolds from Marvel’s Deadpool, Viola Davis as Annalise Keating from How to Get Away with Murder, and of course, the highly popular Johnny Depp for his role as Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.

Seeing Johnny Depp pop up as a common name on this list is not too much of a surprise, he has an incredibly loyal fan base. Since Disney gave Depp the boot, fans have petitioned to have him return as Jack Sparrow. Many are also frustrated to hear Margot Robbie will reportedly be stepping in as a female captain, replacing the role Depp once played.
