Credit: Disney (left) @HalleBailey (right)One of the most anticipated live-action films that Disney fans are looking forward to is The Little Mermaid.
After the success of Disney princess films such as the live-action Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin, seeing The Little Mermaid come to life will be interesting as a lot of this film will need to take place underwater. When Halle Bailey was announced as Ariel, many fans quickly began discussing the news, as the casting showed a huge push toward diversity at the Walt Disney Company.
Although the production was affected by the pandemic and had to halt earlier this year, it seems that the stoppage did not affect the film too much, as Halle (@HalleBailey) has taken to Twitter to announce that the film has wrapped officially!
and just like that..that’s a wrap after auditioning for this film when i was 18 just about to turn 19 , to now finishing filming through a pandemic when i turned 21 ..we have finally made it.. i feel so grateful to have experienced this film in all of its glory..

If we zoom into the photo, it seems that Halle is wearing a skin-colored top and a bottom in the photo. Since we have yet to see any official photos of the cast in costume, this photo could point toward CGI and edits needed to place Ariel’s bikini shells and mermaid tail on Halle, if Disney is going the route of the traditional costume. We have also seen Halle on set in a wetsuit, which you can check out here.
There may be pick-up shots needed once the film goes into the editing stages; however, the majority of filming is now complete, which means we Disney fans are one step closer to singing “Part of your World” along with Halle!
