Due to the ongoing pandemic, Walt Disney World has had to make several operational changes in order to welcome Guests and Cast Members into the Most Magical Place on Earth as safely as possible. One of those changes included the temporary suspension of character meet and greets.
However, with many more people becoming vaccinated, and as COVID-19 cases drop, will Disney World bring back this perk in the near future? Possibly in time for the 50th anniversary? A new permit hints at this being a possibility.

A recent permit was filed for the location of Princess Fairy Tale Hall in Magic Kingdom to “provide labor, material, and/or electrical for construction”.
Though we do not know exactly what this permit was filed for, we know it is relating to construction. Princess Fairy Tale Hall has been closed since the pandemic shut down the theme parks as Disney World is not hosting character meet and greets at this time. However, as the world continues to fight COVID-19, and as more people become vaccinated, Disney World could be thinking of reopening this meet and greet location.
It is interesting to see the permit filed as, again, the location is currently closed. Inside the Magic will continue to update you as we get information regarding Princess Fairy Tale Hall and character meet and greets at Disney World.

In the meantime, if you want to see some of your favorite Disney characters at the theme parks, you can spot them in pop-up cavalcades that occur during the day or out and about greeting Guests from a safe social distance.
More on Princess Fairy Tale Hall

Prior to the ongoing pandemic, Guests could meet Cinderella, Elena, Rapunzel, and Tiana at Princess Fairy Tale Hall inside Magic Kingdom. This Fantasyland meet and greet location welcomed several Guests each and every day and many little Princesses got to meet their idols, get their autographs, and snap a photo fit for royalty.
When Princess Fairy Tale Hall does reopen to Guests, it is not known which Disney Princesses will be meeting Guests, but Inside the Magic will update you as we get information.

Disney World describes this location as:
Enjoy a dazzling encounter with Cinderella and Elena in an enchanting royal setting.
Everyone gets the royal treatment as Cinderella encourages one and all to be kind—and always believe in your dreams.
As Elena readies herself to rule the enchanted kingdom of Avalor, she creates her own heroine’s journey—and it includes a visit with her fellow Princesses—and you!
Let your hair down for a magical meeting with Rapunzel. She is excited to meet you and share stories of her many adventures… and maybe even hear about some of yours!
Tiana recently fulfilled her lifelong ambition of opening her very own restaurant—and spent some time as a frog. Now she’s delighted to make a new friend, especially one whose dreams are as big as her own.
