In years past, when Guests booked a trip to Walt Disney World Resort, if they were staying on property, Disney would send them a complimentary MagicBand to use throughout their vacation. However, at the start of 2021, Walt Disney World Resort officially discontinued complimentary MagicBands for Disney Resort hotel Guests.
This change, on top of the announcement of Disney MagicMobile, made many think that MagicBands would soon be discontinued. However, the good news is that despite the end of complimentary MagicBands, Disney is continuing to design and release brand-new MagicBands that Guests can purchase.

Most recently, Disney World released three new, exclusive MagicBands — all of which are discounted if you pre-order them! Here are all the details surrounding these new MagicBands available now through your My Disney Experience account on the Walt Disney World website for those who have an upcoming trip.
Exclusive Halloween 2021 MagicBand
The first MagicBand that is currently available is the 2021 Halloween design, which features Donald Duck! The band itself is purple and has spiders, spiderwebs, and Jack-O-Lanterns. This MagicBand would be perfect to wear to the new Disney After Hours Event coming to Magic Kingdom later this year — Boo Bash!
Disney After Hours Boo Bash will run for 30 select nights starting August 10 and continuing through October 31 at Magic Kingdom. Tickets start at $129 – $139, plus tax for August and September nights and $159 – $169, plus tax for October nights, and $199, plus tax for Halloween. Goofy Ice Cream MagicBand
The second new MagicBand features Goofy holding an ice cream cone with eight scoops of different flavored ice cream! This design reminds us of both the newly opened BoardWalk Ice Cream shop as well as the recently reopened Plaza Ice Cream Parlor at Magic Kingdom.

Disney Riviera Resort MagicBand
The final MagicBand is designed to represent Disney’s newest Resort hotel — Disney’s Riviera Resort. Home to Topolino’s Terrace and several European-inspired amenities, this Disney Vacation Club Resort offers a full range of accommodations and is a must-visit!

This colorful wristband is actually an all-in-one device that effortlessly connects you to all the vacation choices you made with My Disney Experience. Your MagicBand enables you to travel lighter throughout your vacation. Use it to enter the parks, unlock your Disney Resort hotel room and buy food and merchandise.
If you are visiting Walt Disney World Resort in the near future, you can use a Key To The World card (provided at the Front Desk) for Disney Resort hotel room entry, theme park entry, and charging purchases to your hotel room with a valid credit card. Additionally, Guests can opt to use a MagicBand from a past visit or may purchase a MagicBand before they arrive at Walt Disney World.
