A few weeks ago, Disney World announced that a brand-new service called MagicMobile would be coming to Guests later this year, however, when Guests woke up this morning they were in for a surprise as MagicMobile officially debuted on iPhone and Apple Watch!
In case you missed it, Disney’s MagicMobile service allows Walt Disney World Resort Guests to utilize their iPhone, Apple Watch, or another smart device to access features such as theme park entry. Disney describes the MagicMobile service as a “convenient and contactless way to access MagicBand features.”

It’s a MagicBand alternative that was slated to roll out later this year. In fact, on March 22, Inside the Magic reported that Disney began teasing MagicMobile to Guests via the My Disney Experience app.
But now, Walt Disney World Resort Guests can start using MagicMobile to enter a theme park as the My Disney Experience app now allows you to set up your MagicMobile pass!
Disney Parks Blog shared some details this morning surrounding the new service:
Beginning today, guests at Walt Disney World Resort will be able to enjoy a convenient and contactless new option for entering the theme parks and more, as part of the rollout of Disney MagicMobile service!
Available now on iPhone and Apple Watch and coming soon to other smart devices, Disney MagicMobile service is a fun, easy-to-use new way for guests to experience The Most Magical Place on Earth. The service is offered in addition to other options such as the MagicBand, the colorful, all-in-one bracelet, which will continue to be available and introduced in even more colors, designs and limited-edition fan favorites into the future.
When you open up the My Disney Experience app and click on the Disney MagicMobile option, a screen will pop up that explains what MagicMobile is. At this time, it looks like Guests can use MagicMobile for theme park entry and for linking Disney PhotoPass images to their accounts, however, we are unsure if Guests can currently use MagicMobile as a method of payment. Inside the Magic will keep you updated as we get information surrounding this new Disney World service.

Easily Enter the Parks and More: Simply hold your iPhone, Apple Watch, or other smart device near an access point when entering the parks or using other available features, just like you do with a MagicBand. With Express Mode on iPhone and Apple Watch, guests do not even need to wake or unlock their Apple device, or open up the app, to use their Disney MagicMobile pass. As a reminder, valid park admission and a park reservation are required for park entry and must be linked to your account.
Discover Other App Enhancements: We’ve also added a new feature in the My Disney Experience app that allows you to automatically link your Disney PhotoPass attraction photos and videos to your profile through your smartphone. Just confirm your settings in advance of riding at participating attractions. The My Disney Experience app also enables Disney Resort hotel guests to unlock their room door using our current digital room key feature.
Additionally, on the first screen, there is a button that says “set up your pass”.

Once you click on that button, another screen pops up that asks if you want to add the MagicMobile pass to your wallet.
Guests can also choose what style they want for their pass! There are several designs to choose from including Mickey and Minnie ears, Cinderella Castle, EPCOT, and more.

Create A Customized Digital Pass: Guests can create a Disney MagicMobile pass through the My Disney Experience app and add it to the Wallet app on iPhone or the digital wallet on other smart devices. You can customize your pass by choosing from several Disney-themed designs that animate upon use (including special designs just for Annual Passholders and DVC Members)! For added ease, you may also store multiple passes on a single device, a great option for families.
Once you set up the MagicMobile pass, the My Disney Experience app will show a screen with quick tips on how to use this new service. There is an express mode that can be accessed by tapping your phone near one of the access points — Without having to unlock your phone!
Again, we do want to note that Guests can choose between either their MagicBand or MagicMobile, depending on their preferences. Both devices can be used simultaneously as well depending on what is most convenient for you during your trip!
